WELCOME TO BOLLYWOOD RELEASE - A ONE STOP PLACE FOR BOLLYWOOD NEWS

MOVIE REVIEW

The much awaited film “Kahaani” finally hits the theatre with gusto. Long before the release of the film, the expectation of the fans were high and I must say the film lived up to the expectation of the fans.
Vidya Balan who enthralled us with her mind blowing act in ”The Dirty Picture” delivered yet another superb performance in the film as if she has set her eyes on another National Award. This Kahaani is an experience incomplete if not watched on big screen.
The movie starts with Vidya Bagchi(Vidya Balan) a seven months pregnant woman arrives in the the city of joy in search of her missing husband. She feels lonely in the city and everyone whom she comes across with convince her that there does not exist her husband but she is adamant and determined to find him.
For many it is a simple journey of a woman in search of her husband but mind you there is a twist in the tale of the story that one will be clueless till the end of the film.
The film also mark the return of the director Sujoy Ghosh after giving us the film like Jhankar Beats and not so well Home Delivery and Aladin. Sujoy marketed and promoted the film exceptionally well by taking an advantage of Vidya Balan’s worth after her successful stint in ‘The Dirty Picture’. This does not mean Sujoy Ghosh Kahaani is just brilliant because of Vidya Balan factor – No not at all. This film is nicely scripted and beautifully made and to top it all a very classically performed by the actors reason enough for the audience to line up in the multiplexes.
The industry which had been delivering so many male centric films is now changing slowly and experimenting with an innovative concepts thank to a young directors who are thinking out of the box to make such a film like kahaani. I must appreciate Vidya’s choice of films. Every film she has done barring Kismat Konnection are focussed on women be it Parineeta, Paa, Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture, and now Kahaani.
The film is very brilliantly told by Sujoy Ghosh and it forced the viewer to be glued to the screen right from the start to finish. Sujoy concept is unique and applauding putting in his effort to make human saga into thriller is commendable.
Cinematography by Setu is brilliantly done and captured the hustle and bustle of city of joy with finesse.
Vidya is ready to sweep away many more awards for her performance in the film. It seems as if she will walk away with another National Award. Music by Vishal-Shekhar is so classy that you would love to listen it again and again. Also Usha Uthup’s sultry voice already ruled the charts much before its release. Watch out for a scene where Vidya feels alone and helpless and peeps out of the window while Kolkata’s street welcomes goddess Durga and in the backdrop Amitabh Bachchan rendition to the film anthem Jodi Tor Daak Sune Keu Naa Ashe gives Vidya courage. WOW what a moment and what a beautiful way to give tribute to both Tagore and City Of Joy.
Go and Watch the film You will enjoy it aami shotti bolchhi.
