“Kahaani” a film by Sujoy Ghosh starring Vidya Balan is already in the news for quite sometimes and is releasing on 9th march. Film has already created such a craze among people that makers are hopeful of a film to do well at the box office, since this is Vidya”s first film after a superb success of “The Dirty Picture” an eagerness quotient is high among people. But the story of the suspense thriller “Kahaani” is said to be inspired by novelist Advaita Kala”s experience of a brief stay in Kolkata.Advaita who has written the story of “kahaani” told that despite having faced a language barrier, poverty and chaos of the city, she has been amazed by the love and affection of the people of Kolkata which has been reflected in the film. In “kahaani” Vidya plays a seven-month pregnant woman who lands in Kolkata in search of her missing husband. Similarly Advaita too had come in Kolkata from the US for a job at the hotel Oberoi Grand in Kolkata. She was retracing the path of her boyfriend then who worked at the same hotel a year before. She had so many memorable moments from those days she spent in Kolkata like visiting a bookstores where her then boyfriend used to visit , walking on the streets where he would go and so on. Advaita who is also an Author of the best selling book “Almost Single” considers city to be very powerful along with the politics, culture, workers union there is a certain beauty in Kolkata.
Advainta always wanted Vidya to be in the lead of the film and has even described Vidya the hero of the film and has written the script keeping in mind Vidya Balan.
The author said that one can find a personal life almost in every work of her. “Kahaani” will also be published in a novel while writing the script of the film Advaita realized that it can be published in a novel too. A book will soon be out in the market after the release of the film.
